Taking their name from the biggest long shot winner in the history of the Kentucky Derby, Donerail began to take shape in or around 2004. Donerail performs what the band likes to call Americana Experimentia. It encompasses traditional roots-rock with charged aggression of the low-fi rock. Lyrically, Donerail contrasts their agro-pop music with introspective lyrics of loss, despair, addiction, and love...well, there's not that much love.
